A message from our Kid's Church Teacher
Dear Parents and Guardians,
Your kids are welcome at River Street Baptist Church! We firmly believe in Matthew 19:13-15 which reads,
"Then people brought little children to Jesus for him to place his hands on them and pray for them. But the disciples rebuked them. Jesus said, 'Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.' When he had placed his hands on them, he went from there."
We are constantly working to make River Street Baptist Church a space where both parents, grandparents and children are welcome to come and connect with Jesus.
Currently during our Sunday service we are offering nursery care for infants and toddlers each week as well as Kid's Church for school aged children up to 12 on the 2nd through 4th or 5th Sunday of each month. At this time we are going through the Bible using the What's in the Bible curriculum. It is a Bible literacy program with videos, puppets, music, games, prayer and discussion time age appropriately designed for kids. The first Sunday of each month is Communion Sunday. On this week we welcome school age kids into the main service so they can learn about Communion and experience worship with the rest of the church. The option of staying in the main service with your child each week is also available. We keep puzzles, coloring books, stickers and quiet toys available for use during service.
Our goals are to accommodate children in a safe environment, to teach them about Jesus and the Bible and to show them Christ-like love through relationships. If you have further questions concerning our children's ministry do not hesitate to contact the church. Please come visit us with your kids Sundays at 10:30am.
God Bless,
Laura Carpenter
